This special has nothing to do with the actual story and I changed the characters' behaviour, too so it would fit in the other surroundings. You don't need to know them. :) guest: One Americano, one Macchiato and a glass of cold milk. Fast. vender: Haven’t you forgotten something, buddy? guest: No, I’m totally fine. That’s all. vender: You’ve forgotten a word. guest: Now. guest: Why on earth do they take so long? Serkon: He’s been playing around with my things, again. Penthesilea: I wouldn’t call it ‘playing’. Seems as if he’d know exactly what he’s doing. Serkon: That guy, really, I could knock him off sometimes! Penthesilea: Believe it or not, that doesn’t escape me. We’d better don’t let him wait, just give me a minute. Serkon: Haimon, you screwball of a moron! Haimon: So there you are! Your insults haven’t become any wittier over night. Serkon: How often have I told you to keep your filthy hands off my phone? Haimon: Shut up and seat yourself. I've got coffee and should it be necessary, I’ll drink it all alone. Serkon: Next. Time. Scumbag. Serkon: What does that mean? Haimon: I bought you something to drink and you show no sign of gratitude? Serkon: “With milk,” I’ve told you. Not “without coffee!” Haimon: That was a misunderstanding, then. Acoustics are very bad in the car, must be due to the fact that sometimes, you dedicate your mouth to other activities while speaking. Serkon: Do you believe I’d put my life at stake by exposing myself to your miserable driving style for 2,000 years and content myself with some cold milk? TV: … singer of “Llama kings”, died yesterday in the evening. Official information say that… Haimon: You must. Remember you don’t actually have a driving license? Penthesilea: Hold your tongue, guys, I wanna hear that! Serkon, sit down! Immediately. Darlene: Welcome to ‘Sims past 8’, your five minutes of regular morning news that move the world! Jonathan: Honestly, Darlene, I could imagine worse scenarios than starting the day with the sight of you. Darlene: Prepare yourself, Jonathan, since tonight, news reached us that Rock songwriter and former lead singer of the Llama kings, Jackson Day, has died of a drug overdose. Jonathan: Day had been in hospital after a suicide attempt which can most likely be attributed to a severe depression that hasn't been public until now. His family and friends keep silent so far, yet we are excited for any news on that case. Darlene: Yes, Jonathan, we are. And not only us here in the studio but also hundreds of people who have assembled in San Myshuno Meadows to express their grief and say goodbye to their idol. Jonathan: Well, good that we have a journalist on the ground. Jonathan: Good morning, Luna! How’s the atmosphere with you? Luna: Good morning, Jonathan. It’s very impressive to be here and see all those people, teenagers and young adults in large part, to take leave of their favorite singer together and offer their sympathy to the bereaved. ... Most of them are here since the early morning but hold out despite the initial coldness. ... Everywhere, there are posters, banners and pictures of the deceased... ... and an upcoming band has appeared offhandedly to perform covers of the Llama kings’ most famous songs. ... Many tears around, but the condolences are heartfelt. ... And I’m sure Day would appreciate the sympathy of his fans. Darlene: Thank you, Luna. That sounds indeed like an appropriate goodbye for one of the town’s greatest sons. Darlene: But tell me, Jonathan, would you have expected such a tragic death back when the Llama kings became famous over night all those years ago? Jonathan: Never, Darlene. Jonathan: Day was the son of Alex Day, author of bestsellers “Rumor” and “Disorder”, and Knight Richardson, son of none other than well-known businessman Antonio Richardson himself. Jonathan: He had quite a good start and was well-known and much acclaimed as both, figurehead of the Rock scene and role model for his fellow singers because of his decent way of life. Darlene: And I remember well his wedding with Winter Renee White, soon followed by the birth of their daughter Siobhan. They were such a dream couple back then! Jonathan: Indeed. It is a pity that they couldn’t escape the curse of celebrity and got a divorce some years ago. After it, Day appeared to make up for all the sad experiences his fellow singers had gained long before. Everyone thought he had overcome the drugs after a rehabilitation but apparently, he didn’t. Darlene: Really, it’s a shame that the most talented people have to pass away so early. Jonathan: It is, Darlene. Yet Day’s fandom will mourn him for a long time. And our thoughts and hearts are with his family – he leaves three minor children living with White – and friends in this difficult time. He won’t be forgotten any time soon. Darlene: Of course not. We will revive his remembrance by showing a previously unreleased live record of “Despicable”, the Llama kings’ most successful song which production was Day’s work in a large part. Jonathan: So much for today from “Sims past 8”. Now, a live interview with the beautiful young author of “The Butterfly Effect”, Farrah Grace. both: Good bye until tomorrow morning, as usual 5 past 8 with Darlene Delgado and Jonathan Finch. Now, at the end, an acknowledgment. First of all, to the authors of the amazing simlit stories that entertain so many readers (and make them cry sometimes, too). Of course, pammiechick's Day and Knight has to be mentioned at this point because that's where Jackson Day is from. This one's for you, Jackson. And Day and Knight in general. And its author. And simlit stories in general. And their authors. Thanks to Marialein who allowed me to use her Amazon queen of Tribe Naheli, Luna, when I was in sore need of a gorgeous reporter and to Maladi777 who let me borrow her Beryl, Kellie and Celeste from Heffner Legacy. Celeste simply had to be in the park because she's a huge fan of Jackson. :) And now, a ton of links to other stories that were mentioned above and that I really enjoyed/still enjoy reading: * Grace Legacy by Sterretjeee (you'll meet Farrah Grace and her book "The Butterfly Effect" there) * Ashes to Ashes by CitizenErased14 (a lot of crying with this one) * Line of the Last by WagonFruit (fortunately, a lot more laughing than crying) * Fangs for the Memories by LadyLobster (contains regular references of raccoons, so totally worth checking it out) * Hold me close by Karababy52 (only a short story by now, but amazing and more will follow) Poses by neutralsimsupply, WyattsSims, eden, simmblrgirl and MrsRacooney
Lots: "1950's diner" by reaa1, "The grand park" by Whimsella The pictures of Jackson are taken from the Day and Knight story. The picture of Farrah is from the Grace Legacy story. I do not own them in any way.
